Religion Service
Last Christmas day, Chris, Oliver and me went to the church in the Mochou road. It is a Christ church, every year when it is Christmas day, it will has a activity that remember Jesus.
When we arrived there, the activity was start, I saw some people were singing. They sang vey beautiful and seriously. There were many christians there, everyone were serious. I felt boring because I cannot understood what they sang and I am atheist. So, I went out when I took the small book. I took a walk with myself around the church. The church was built very solemn and it looks vicissitudes because there were many goto on the wall. The garden of church was quit, it seems isolated. Some voice come out from inside of church. That was comfortable. How good life is...
After we finished in the church, we felt relaxed and a new feeling of things. That was good, although I did not like the song. Hehe...
Volunteer Work
This Thursday, in the April 30th, Tim, Oliver, Gerry and me went to Jinglin Library to do the volunteer work. When we arrived the Library, they did not surprise because there were many students came before.
At the beganing, they did not find suit work for us. After half-hour, a man called Director Sun came and let us went down to the first floor. We went to the Visually impaired Reeding Room. He took us to the deep inside of the room and let us arrange the book. Those books have the number, such as 14200 etc. We need put the 142***,143***'s books together, we thought that was easy before we started, but we all were wrong. The book was very messay, there were many books from another bookshlef and the number was messay too, the 145*** in the 143***... These readers were so rude when they reading--we thought, but I thought they areVisually impaired people, so it was excusable. We spent almost two hours than let books homing and our lumbar were numb and eyes were tired. At that time, many numbers around my head. We felt the work was not easily to do and know the worker were very difficult. I will treasure the chance of study and find a good job in the future. I said these not means I look down to that people, I just want I can live more comfortable than them, I respect everyone are working beacause at least they are live by themselves. I despise that person who has a good body but to be a beggar.
From this activity, I remember one important thing thai reading in a Library--put the book on where it was when I took it. If every one can do this, workers will more relaxed when they work. This called with convenient, easy to own. Every one think more for others, our community will more harmony(he xie和谐).

The GCA Fashion Show
This Monday, I joined the GCA 2009 Fashion Show as a Model. The Show was very successful and perfect.
Our group had work for three weeks for the show, just one hour. The process was difficult but the result was pretty good. I don not know the meaning of Fashion Show specific but I guess teacher want to training our team work. First, we earned the money from sell the pizza. After that, we started design the clothes. We did not have the studio (this is nonsense), so we designed it in the class. We only had four classes to finished our design. Then, we went to Shanxi road to buy the cloth and made clothes. We found a small shop to make our clothes, we thought the store has more credibility. After one week, we knew we were wrong, totally wrong. Store's shopkeeper almost forgot our clothes and they could not found it. Luckily, Rita and Amy found it in a very small cornor. Anyway, we got our clothes in the end.
In the Friday, all the model were practiced for thewalk. The time was very quickly, before the show, I felt very nervous. Even I did not know where can I put my hands. When I walked on the stage, I did not nervous, I felt all the stage were belong to myself. Anyway, the Fashion Show was good, layout and organized were good.

Italian restaurant
Last sunday, my friends and I went to a Italian restaurant to have dinner. I think the restaurant is better than the Switzerland restaurant. It's noodles were not greasy and the environment is better than that.
I have seen the restaurant before, but I never get into it. The restaurant looks not very good from outside. When Laurance told me the restaurant, I almost forgot it, but when I came in it, I feel better because the environment were pretty good. The manager is a kind women, she's English are very good. There are many foreigners come to her restaurant. She was proud for this. She said she know GCA and some teachers always came to this restaurant to have dinner, she also thought our oral are good.

I ordered Italian noodle naturally becuse it is the Italian restaurant. As the same time, I orderede salmon for dim sum, I thought I fooled after it serve. Is not the quality but the quantity. The amount and the price are disproportionte. Its noodle are not too bad, it seems little but very much actually. When we came in it, there were only two tables had people, everyone were quite. Not too much noise. Overall, I think the restaurant is worth to go.

Volunteer Activity
I had done some volunteer work last year. I want to anneal myself, so the first thing I did was helped Ms. Mitschrich and her drama club painting. The other thing is went to KFC to be a volunteer.
The first day I went to drama club was a sunny day, I was excited because I didn't do anything like this. In fact, I did less thing in the first day, I had no ideal with it. I have to made a leaf with staple. Slowly, I did some work well, but someone said my leaves are too small. So, I gave up. The second week, we had a big "wall" to paint. At begining, we all think it is easy and funny. In the course, we met many problem: someone don't know how to use the brush and breach the draw; someone moisten too much water, so the colour was too light; someone moisten too much paint, so the draw was too dark...Anyway, we foul up the first paint. Then, we got a sum up and we keep trying. Finally, we got a successful painting. When the drama on view, we felt very proud.
This Spring Festival, I went to KFC to be a volunteer. I want to know how to make a hamburger. I think it is not very easy but manager told me that is very easy because the material was ready. I was excited that I can have a chance to make a hamburger. First thing is wash my hand carefully. I cannot wait a bit. I got two bread from a box and took some lettuce between them. Then, I got a piece of beef and put some cucumber in it. Final, I put them together. A hamburger was borned. After three days, I felt tired. I thought their work are comfy befor. I know everything are not easy now.
No one can got the pie from sky. The work is very meaningful.

Club Activity
Last tearm, I join in two clubs of GCA. The piano club and the badminton club. The reason why I join in these two clubs is I like play badminton and itcan training my body. Although I cannont play piano, I like listen to piano and I want to learn to how to play the piano.
The piano club usually have activity at lunch time. We always listen someone play a melody and the proprieter will indicate the wrongs of the people's play. However, I cannot play the piano, so I just listen to it and give some advice for player as a audience. I think this way is very good because it can found the problem that player have. After a period of time, the proprieter want me to try to play the piano. I think it is very difficult and imossuble. First, he try to teach me how to posing correct and the cruces. Soon, I knew the bedrock and had some improvement, but I still cannont play well. I hope I can have more advancement the next term.
The other club is badminton. I like play table tennis and I also like play badminton. Tell the truth, I was not good at badminton. At the begining, I offten lose the game. I feel a littel depression. My best friend gave me great encouragement at that time and I retrieve confidence soon. I join the badminton team to improve my level. Time is quickly, we have a game in GCA. There would be some students from Nanjing International School join us. I feel nervous because my level was not well and I thought I will lose the game. At the race day, my friend give me encouragement again. Despite I lose the game, I thought I something new. Not impossible, only the unexpected.
I like my club and I also will join them the next term.

Physical Activity
I like sports, especially table tennis beacause it can let the hole body movement. It is good for my health.
I think sports are good for everyone because sports can make people more healthy and keeping fit. In all of the sports subject, I think table tennis is the best one because it isn't a dangerous and very easy so everyone can play it.
Like many other sports, table tennis began as a mild social diversion. Descending, along with lawn tennis and badminton, from the ancient medieval game of tennis. After the name Ping-Pong was introduced by J. Jaques & Son, the game became a fashionable craze. The game was popular in Central Europe in 1905-1910, and even before this is a modified version had been introduced to Japan , where it later spread to China and Korea. After a period when it had dropped out of favor in Europe, the game was revived in England and Wales in the early twenties. by that time 'Ping-Pong' had been registered as a trademark, so the earlier name of table tennis was re-introduced. National associations were formed and standardization of the rules began, both in Europe and the Far East.Then, over the next sixty years, table tennis developed into a major worldwide sport, played by perhaps thirty million competitive players and by uncountable millions who play less seriously. However, the game itself has not changed in essence since its earliest days, though it is faster, more subtle and more demanding than it was even only twenty years ago.
It had an interesting thing aboud table tennis--Ping-pong Diplomacy. One of the first public hints of improved U.S.-China relations came on April 6, 1971, when the American Ping-Pong team, in Japan for the 31st World Table Tennis Championship, received a surprise invitation from their Chinese colleagues for an all-expense paid visit to the People's Republic. Time magazine called it "The ping heard round the world." On April 10, nine players, four officials, and two spouses stepped across a bridge from Hong Kong to the Chinese mainland, ushering in an era of "Ping-Pong diplomacy." They were the first group of Americans allowed into China since the Communist takeover in 1949.
In various ping-pong games, the most famous is the world championship competition, which was held once a year at the beginning, now, it is held twice a year ever since 1957.
I usually play table tennis in the University of Nanjing. I like play one on one games because if I lose the game, no one would blame on me. Someone suggest me to try two on two game, it can make me learn more things from table tennis. After I try it, I found it isn't the show time for myself, we are teammates, we should know ourselves are not an individual, we are the whole. This is team spirit. Team spirit is very important. In many ways, we need the team spirit, such as work, game, study...

Cultural Awareness
When it is 18th December 2008, we went to the Bebbis restaurant for dinner. That is a Switzerland restaurant. It is on the Xinjiekou area beside the subway station. I go with my classmate and three of Grade 12 students. There are 13 people in our group--Victor, Sherry, Viola, Rita, Tim, Sam John, Amy, Soda and May.The reason why we choose the restaurant is we think the other restaurant such as French, Gemmen and Italy are all usually and most
students will choose them and American food are not very special.
So, we choose this one.
I ate the thousands side noodles because I heard that this is the most famouse of Switzerland. When I ate it, I think it is delicious but it is too sweet. I usually eat rice, so it is totally different. The environment was not so good because there were two people smoking. I think I cannot look out what kind of people who ate there, but at least they wre not very poor.
However, the dinner was pretty good. I would not go to that restaurant again because the price are not very reasonable.

Wu Weishan Sculpture Art Exhibition
In November, which was a sunny day. Art class, Ms.Hadly and Ms.Bartell let us to go to Wu Weishan Sculpture Art Exhibition. It is interesting and perfect art work. We glad to came to see those greet works of sculpture.
Wu weishan is a famous person that have good job at sculpture. He comes from Nantong and he was hard-working when he was a student. He was join the first College Entrance Examination after Cultural Revolution. Regretly, he did not pass it. So, he went to a very small school at Wuxi to study. At there, Wu weishan know the sculpture for the first time. After that, he got successful with himself's effort and talent. Wu weishan wanted study physicals in the University, but his teacher said if he studiede physicals, China would lost a wizards at sculpture, because Wu weishan's physical was not good.
Sculpture is a kind of plastic arts and the term of the three methods--carved, engraved and plastic. Refers to a variety of plastic materials (such as plaster, resin, clay, etc.) or can be carved rigid material (such as wood, stone, metal, jade blocks, agate, etc.) to create a certain visual space can be inconsistent with the image of the arts to reflect the social life, to express the feelings of the artist's aesthetic, aesthetic emotion, aesthetic ideals of art. Sculpture, carved by reducing substances may be carving materials, plastic through the stack of materials by plastic material to achieve the purpose of artistic creation. At the Exhibition, the "Sleep Baby" give me the deep impression. The work is a cute baby was sleeping. His mouth open softly and his small feet were very prretty. Wu weishan was see the baby's feet and have the inspiration. The sculpture made me feel very comfortable. When I first saw the sculpture, I think the environment that baby sleep was very quiet. The article remind me when my brother borned, he is like the baby. I like this sculpture. The posture of the baby is peaceful. First, the baby was sleeping. The world could not be in a War or other unpeaceful things. Then, his mouth was open, so cute. I do not think other people maight appreciate the sculpture because everyone has different own ideas.
These are all my ideal. The activity was very good to open up our horizons.
